Key 2021 Instagram trends

Oct 27, 2021

Instagram has proven to be a powerful marketing tool for businesses looking to expand their presence, visibility of their products and their company. It is exciting to see how Instagram is rapidly developing new features and functionalities to tackle main business issues and help users support their favourite brands. However, it can be hard to be seen amongst the 1 billion monthly plus active users. So, we have provided you with a few key Instagram trends to help you and your business adapt to meet your goals.

1. Instagram Content

I would say content is the most important thing to consider when planning your Instagram marketing strategy. There are several content marketing tools that can help you create amazing Instagram content. At JB Promotions, we use Canva a lot to create eye catching graphics to use on our clients’ socials – this way we feel it increases more credibility to the brands we work with. However, businesses and influencers have been very successful when providing content that is ‘real’, authentic and relatable.

2. Even More Instagram Stories

Instagram stories have become even more popular, with more and more influencers using stories to publish content and brands have said that Instagram stories have had huge impact on influencer content about their brand.

We highly recommend taking advantage of the functionality available on stories – polls, emoji sliders, tags, your location and more – to encourage engagement. You can now add a link to your website, which is a lot easier to promote content and special promotions. No need to get to 10,000 followers to use the swipe up button!

3. Reels

Reels is Instagram’s response to TikTok, allowing users to create and edit short form video content of 15 seconds each. It’s also helpful to ease into Instagram reels through informational content and create content on things you’re already knowledgeable about and share that with your audience.

4. Relatable Influencers

When looking for an influencer to represent your brand, consider all all types of influencers. The greater the following of an influencer, doesn’t necessarily mean that they have more engagement than an influencer who has only a couple thousand followers, simply because it’s easier for them to stay in touch with a few thousand people than hundreds of thousands.

We hope this helps you to develop your brand’s reach and allow you to engage with your followers. Just remember, be yourself and engage with your followers.
