Behind the scenes with Coate PR at The Game Fair

Aug 19, 2025

At the end of July, The Game Fair brought the best of the British countryside together for a three-day celebration. For the Coate PR team, it was all go on site from Thursday to Sunday. From press releases and influencer logistics to live social updates, the team worked hard behind the scenes to help bring the event to life.

Here’s what a day in the life looked like for us on-site.

Jo was mainly responsible for setting up the media centre alongside the team. Preparing everything ahead of the media’s arrival and ensuring a smooth and professional experience for journalists and broadcasters throughout the weekend.

Kim focused on new launches at The Game Fair, connecting with brands to uncover the latest products and announcements. She transformed these into engaging website stories that highlighted the innovation and excitement that defined the weekend.

Phoebe threw herself into the heart of the action, spending her time following the competitions across the showground. From fishing to gundog trials to the BASC Willd Food Kitchen Theatre, sponsored by Global Knives and Machinery Nation, she was interviewing winners, gathering insights and turning those moments into website stories that captured the spirit of the show.

Flo was on the ground capturing live moments and sharing real-time updates across The Game Fair’s social media channels. She coordinated with photographers to ensure they were in position to capture key moments. From action shots to brand and sponsor requirements to ensure that nothing was missed. Flo also and worked with Lally to oversee community engagement and influencer activity.

April represented the team in event control, attending meetings and ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. She oversaw logistics for key moments, including the opening gun salute and celebrity moments with Jimmy Doherty, Vinnie Jones and Merlin Griffiths in the VIP Enclosure sponsored by Rathbones.

While each team member had their focus, the roles didn’t stop there. Everyone pitched in wherever needed, working together to make sure every moment ran smoothly.

It was a busy, brilliant weekend and we were proud to be a part of it. The Game Fair continues to be a highlight of the rural calendar, and we loved playing our part in making it a success.
