Part of the Coate PR remit for Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials is to organise a media day in advance of the event, which takes place a week before the horse trials begins.
The 2023 media day began with a welcome from Stable Events in the Long Library at Blenheim Palace where a range of media personnel gathered including journalists, influencers, sponsors, riders, photographers and videographers. This was followed by a course drive in cars provided by Isuzu with David Evans, the Course Designer. Afterwards, guests were invited to have lunch on the Water Terrace, followed by an exclusive tour of Blenheim Palace. There were opportunities for photos and interviews throughout the day.
Media who could not attend were sent an email the following day providing video and imagery highlights from the media day to download and use to promote the event. Click here to view the email.
Coverage from guests including:
“It was really great to meet you all yesterday and it was an inspired course – walk with a great chance to make contact with some important people. It felt like back to the old days when the Grand Plan Consultancy was promoting the trials – lots of great ideas and introductions to make covering the event that much easier.”
Roseanne Edwards (Banbury Guardian)
“Thank you for a lovely morning, it was great to see you and such a fab opportunity to meet David, walk the course and network with people in the industry. It was even better that the weather really put on a show!”
Lawrence Gill (Executive Director at KBIS)
“I just wanted to drop you a somewhat belated email to say how brilliant I thought the Media Day and to thank you for inviting me along. I thought it was a really good cross – section of people and the day was really well thought out and ran like clockwork.
Understanding the course thinking was a real highlight, as was the tour of the Palace afterwards. I’ve been to Blenheim so many times and never actually got that far. I also had the time to actually sit and picnic and watch the horses on Saturday, another first! Again, all immaculately running although I am sure that there was a lot going on behind the scenes.”
Emma Warren (Managing Director at Hiho Silver)
